Book a Private Jet to Sofia Airport
Sofia Airport is the primary international airport in Bulgaria. Located ten kilometres outside of the city centre, the city’s excellent transport connections make the airport easy to reach. There are a number of services on offer for private jet passengers to ensure a flight from Sofia is as pleasant as possible.
Sofia (SOF) Airport
The airport, serving Bulgaria’s capital, was opened in 1935 as the country’s first large international airport. Due to overcrowding and transport difficulties, the owners initially looked for an alternative location where they might establish a new building. As none of the alternatives proved feasible, civil authorities decided that the existing building should be expanded. In mid-2006 a new runway was put into use, which facilitated the use of larger aircraft, including the Airbus A380. Work on the second Terminal was completed by the end of 2006, just prior to Bulgaria’s accession to the EU on the 1st January 2007.
